By default we prefer neither before we have seen and understood your operations. Decision for battery swapping, fast-charging, or equipping vehicles with higher capacity batteries should be tailor made to fit your specific mobility needs.
Battery swapping is a semi-automated, 7-minute long battery replacement option available with the eVAN k2 electric vehicle. It has been designed for high-mileage professional operations, where daily mileages >300km are required.
After parking at the station the driver identifies himself/herself with a chip card and follows the instructions. Battery is swapped via semi-automated electric forklift in a very similar way professional drivers usually load / unload cargo palettes from medium and heavy trucks. Brief initial training is required.

Depending on battery capacity in kWh, linearly. Nissan eNV200 is equipped with a 24kWh batterypack and might be fast-charged within 30 minutes. The eVAN k2 vehicle is available with 40, 60 and 80 kWh battery options, with recharging times increasing correspondingly. All electric vehicles might be fast-charged only up to 80% due to security reasons, with charging significantly slower for the remaining capacity.
Batteries are deemed unsuitable for automotive use after they reach 80% of their original kWh capacity, which is expected in approximately 8 -10 years. We aim to start refurbishing the batteries for stationary use at that point, so that they could be paired with solar panels or installed as an energy back up systems at places where uninterrupted power supply is needed (hospitals etc).
Today, decommissioned batteries are usually disposed as a hazardous waste, which is unfortunate. Batteries are recyclable and contain alkali metals and rare earth elements that might be used to produce new batteries or electronics. We believe that recycling batteries will become economically superior to mining for ‘new’ materials, as the amount of available decommissioned batteries will increase.
Operator, or an electric mobility operator, is an entity that cares for several aspects of electric mobility. Mobile telecoms provide a good example of operators from another industry. They provide complete communication services (~in form of monthly plans) rather than selling cellular phones + renting their transmission towers and data centres + hourly billed expert services and customer support. Electric mobility, just as mobile telecommunications, is more convenient when an operator takes care of all the aspects.
The GreenWay Service is a complete mobility solution (~in form of monthly plans) that includes vehicle lease, access to infrastructure, electric energy, complete service & maintenance, web based fleet management system, and a true user support. GreenWay Service might be billed per kilometre or via monthly plans.

Electric vehicles provided with the GreenWay Service are either quality OEM vehicles or custom design retrofitted vehicles based on OEM platform with proper homologation according to the European Union standards. Electric vehicles are statistically much less likely to catch fire after being involved in an accident than internal combustion vehicles. Finally, the GreenWay’s unique eVAN k2 vehicle uses batteries designed for LiFePo4 battery cells. This design has been conservatively optimized for security and long lifetime rather than cutting-edge energy density.
100 % electric vehicles generate no emissions. Electricity used to power the vehicles, though, might have been produced from variety of energy sources ranging from renewables to coal.
Our vision is to see European cities having city logistics fully served by zero emission electric vehicles powered by energy coming solely from renewable energy sources. In today’s reality, the volume of indirect emissions from electricity production will vary according to individual country. In this context the term “energy mix” is often used.
Concerning global climate change, electric vehicles deliver a net reduction in overall CO2 emissions. In Slovakia, for example, the eVAN k2 delivery van is indirectly responsible for 55g CO2 per km due to electricity generation, while equivalently sized diesel powered delivery van emits around 200g per km plus its indirect CO2 footprint related to oil extraction, transportation and refining. A net positive effect would be achieved as a general rule worldwide with only few exceptions where vast majority of electricity is generated from coal (China and some states in the US).
Concerning negative impacts on human health, switching to electric vehicles generate positive impact without exceptions. This is mainly due to the NOx and solid particles exposure factor. These pollutants tend to concentrate along the key traffic corridors and in inner cities, thus creating potentially hazardous environments where people spend most of their time.
Similar to any diesel or gasoline vehicle, an EV consumes different amounts of energy per distance traveled depending on driving style, vehicle load, and use of heating or air conditioning.
Electric vehicles are more energy efficient than a combustion vehicle in terms of distance per kilojoule of energy. As a result, changes in external conditions such as driving faster or turning on the air-conditioning have a greater impact on energy consumption per 100 km.
For this reason we tend to communicate driving ranges as median driving ranges for typical summer and winter conditions rather than as maximum driving ranges in ideal conditions.
